If you are just beginning a ketogenic diet, you are probably asking yourself, “Is this sustainable for the long-term?”
Before I try to answer this question, I prefer to call this a ketogenic lifestyle and not a diet. Diets tend to be short-term; and more often than not, tend to fail.
One of the greatest benefits of a ketogenic lifestyle is that you do not need to count calories to be successful. This lifestyle is not about counting points or calorie restriction. This is not about depriving yourself food or being hungry all the time. This is not about buying the latest, expensive “keto-certified” product.
This is about eating real, whole foods that are found in your local grocery store that are naturally low in carbohydrates, high in fat, and will result with you feeling full and satisfied.
Think about that for a second. Eat real, whole foods until you’re full. That’s it! That sounds like a long-term solution to me!
A ketogenic lifestyle is about getting back to the basics and eating like our ancestors used to eat. It’s really that simple!
